Support for a Cure, relief for noW.

$ 0 /year

The average annual out-of-pocket cost is $2,500 per person.

8% of T1D patients pay up to $5,000 per month out-of-pocket due to high deductibles. 1.6 Million people are living with T1D. 200,000 of those people are under 18.

Currently, Bobby’s monthly supplies cost $500 out-of-pocket.

Without a cure, Bobby will end up paying $510,000 in his lifetime, on monthly lifesaving supplies.

Board Members

Bobby Baldor

Founder
While we remain hopeful for a cure in our lifetime, we know that those living with this disease can’t wait for a cure, they need support now.

Amanda Douglas

Founder/President
We need real change to legislation that currently deems lifesaving supplies a “luxury”. Bobby’s Bandits was created to bridge the gap between a future with a cure and the relief needed today.

David Quinones

Director
Locally, we are helping families who need financial support for supplies.

Lina Torres

Director
The goal is to build sustainable diabetes care models for vulnerable populations. Bobby’s Bandits is the reminder that you are not alone. As a T1D Mom, I felt my world crumble when I heard the diagnosis. It is extremely overwhelming because diabetes didn’t just affect my daughter, it affected our family, our lives, and our finances.

Bobby Baldor

Fundraising Chair
We are dedicated to supporting a cure in our lifetime through financial support as well as awareness.

Katie Atkinson

Director of Operations
So many thoughts run through your head when you find out that your Nephew has T1D. It was such a scary time and I hope that Bobby’s Bandits helps other families through the transition and makes it easier on them. You worry about everything. How will they live, will they be ok, what will his future look like with this, how will kids at school react? He’s such a trooper, he takes it all head on and doesn’t let it bother him. He’s my first Nephew, I painted his nursery, I was there for the whole pregnancy, it’s an unbreakable bond we have.

Jody Seltzer

Secretary
My connection to Bobby’s Bandits is incredibly personal. As a boy Mom, I understand the deep love between a mother and son. As a mother, you would do anything to give your child the best life. When they are sick, you immediately take action to do anything and everything to make them better. Amanda has done so much to give Bobby his best life. Now she is giving that opportunity to more families that are dealing with Type 1 Diabetes. Bobby’s bandits is going to change lives of local families & children. Anytime in our lives that we can help others we should. I’m honored to be part of our mission to give back, help local families and ultimately find a cure. Together we can make it happen!

Becky Douglas

Local Outreach Director
Creating Bobby’s Bandits means so much to me as we are providing money for research. There is no cure and not even a known reason on what causes Type 1 Diabetes. This disease is genetic and can be carried on to Bobby’s future children and we are creating an opportunity for more to be known on prevention and causes.

Robin Winkler

Sponsorship Director
I hope to be able to spread a little bit of sunshine where it is needed most. To be a part of something that can ease the struggles that families are facing with Type 1 Diabetes. It breaks my heart. It is so hard to ask for help when you don’t want people to know your struggle. It’s hard to put on a brave face for your kids and tell them everything is going to be ok. Top that with mounting bills, trying to afford medicine and treatment that your kids need to survive. That’s the goal, to help ease the struggles that families are facing.

Jensherise Samayoa

Membership Chair
Together, I believe that we can give hope and resources to the people living with T1D.
